e-missions Update: Prague Team

Hey!!!!!!!!!!!!
Had a chance to use a machine so I thought that I would write and tell you that this trip is really one of the most awesome ever. You could love it here. The historical parts of Prague date back to the 1200's and in some cases even earlier. The castles and cathedrals are beyond description and I will get a book to show people because a camera cannot do them justice. The spires, flying buttresses, gold leaf, engravings, statues and fresco paintings are unique from building to building.

Yesterday was probably the most emotional day yet. We went to a concentration camp holding village called Terezin. More than 50,000 people passed through on their way to the death camps. Many were either executed or died there too. The cemetery is huge. Each grave stone is a slab of concrete that is about 12"x18". All that is marked is the number of the prisoner and a crude date. Mourning stones have been placed on top of each marker (it is a Jewish tradition) to show that at least, somewhere along the way, someone cared.

Today I am going with another Jewish Christian to the Jewish ghetto. The cemetery and temples are supposed to be breathtaking. The oldest temple in all of Europe is here, and it is on our list of things to see also.

Tomorrow we are off to Amsterdam and the second part of the trip. Have walked the streets here and spoken to some of the women who work them at night. Will be different to see them sitting in windows waiting to be needed. So much to tell you about! We have visited a half way house for at risk kids. Those that stay, will never need to sell themselves. The receive vocational training, education, etc. The success rate is amazing. Got to run, it is time for breakfast. Loveand miss you all! Char
