e-Bible Reading Plan
I thought I had read 2 Timothy 1-9 a little more recently - then I remembered - it was the gossip pages and new reports of the paper. 2 Timothy 4:1-5 a charge to us on how to live so that we don’e become front page news. I was reading verse 17 of 2 Timothy 4 and for the first time ever wondered if that meant that Paul was rescued from the Coliseum- from when they were feeding Christians to the lions as a sporting event.
I noticed that Jude was presenting a similar theme as Paul’s letter to Timothy - be careful of those who are in your fellowship - but are not true believers - and who are bringing a false doctrine. A warning for us as well as we see the Doctrine of Jesus Christ being watered down to fit within the “politically correct” attitudes of the world.
I found another interesting passage in 1 Peter 1:12 when he wrote about angels longing to look into these things - and it made me wonder - don’t they understand what Jesus did? I’m going to have to ask the professional Christian about this one too.
Can you believe that we are almost at the end of the year and at the end of reading our Bible together? Fifteen more days! What an adventure we have had together!
