e-Bible Reading Plan

Verses 12 & 13 of Zech 10 stopped me in my tracks. I do not think that this amount of money and where it went is a coincidence – but I am struggling to see how it fits with Jesus’ story. Do you see the connection? And then verse 10 of chapter 12 when Israel looks on the one they have pierced – and then the reference to the plain of Megiddo – which – if I recall correctly – is where the battle of Armageddon will take place. And what a joy to read about the second coming of Jesus in chapter 14!

I loved to read of the completion of the temple in Ezra and how they celebrated the first Passover in the new temple. What a day of joy that must have been.

I loved reading the glorious adventure story of Esther. It had everything! An obscure girl chosen to be Queen, and an evil man trying to destroy all the Jewish people because of a slight given to his pride by a single Jewish man. Then Haman seeks to hang Mordecai from a huge gallows, and ends up on it himself when the Queen reveals his plot. Did you notice what I noticed? It is something that does not happen in any other book of the Bible. God is not mentioned in Esther.

Our readings in Luke this week had many of my favorite parables and stories of Jesus. Jesus’ comment about the dead body and vultures in Luke 17:37 was a little bit strange though. What did you think of it?
