1 Chronicles 22 starts with David getting the materials together to build the temple. He knows that he isn’t the one to build it - but he wants to get as much of it ready to go as possible. What a witness we see in David’s commitment to the building of the Temple in chapter 29 when he gives his personal fortune to it. Then the rest of the leaders of Israel are described as ready & willing as they stepped forward to give.
Psalm 97, 98 & 99 are three of my favorites because they are just absolute praise of God. I loved them in the Message - it was a new look at some familiar verses.
I loved reading Chapter 1 of 1 Thessalonians a week ago- what a witness that church was! Even this week as I was finishing the two books to the Thessalonika church - I kept going back to that first chapter re-reading it - asking myself “What do I need to do to make my personal witness more like this church? How can I strengthen the witness of my church?” Both books are anticipating the return of Jesus - you know I loved reading that!
This week we continue in the Book of Romans - I really love this book! We leave the kings behind for awhile and read Proverbs. I think we will be surprised of the number of sayings we have that we didn’t know came out of Proverbs - and we will be looking for sayings we thought were in Proverbs - but aren’t.
