e-Missions: Botulism Update/Jan & Larry Martin

Dear Friends:

Thank you for your prayers for the folk here who have suffered from botulism poisoning. Over 150 of the 200 cases are back at home now but are still not back to full health.

Last night we were talking with the head of the Public Health Department, who studies English with us. He told us that the patients will have symptoms related to throat and liver problems for another 2 -3 months. The folk who are still in hospital are improving and expected to be released in a week or so. Thank you for your prayers.

As we were talking he said that it is good for them to take electrolyte replacements but the hospital has a limited supply We have been praying for a way to show Jesus' love and concern in this area and felt that this was an opening. Today we made contact with the hospital and they agreed that it would be good if we could help give some electrolytes and so we went to the city and bought some.

The hospital is having the patients come in every week for a check up so we will distribute the items then and find out what would be good to give the following week.

We are including a card with the items that has a quote from Jesus, "Love God and Love your Neighbor". We are hoping that these gifts will show Jesus' love to these people and that we can continue helping until they are fully recovered.

Thank you for your prayers that have helped so many and please continue to pray for continued improvement especially for those who are still in hospital.

In Christ,

Larry and Jan
