Note from Valerie: Our beloved Ann Mead wrote this poem. She sent it to me after reading my comments in our weekly e-Bible Reading about Rahab. Ann is a superb organist, bicyclist beyond compare and a writer of wonderful poetry - is there no end to her gifts? Praise God, she uses all of them to His glory!
RAHAB
by Ann Reed-Mead
Rahab, the harlot, member of a heathen race
Gave two Israeli spies a hiding place.
Then helped them escape with a promise that they
Would spare her and her family on the day
They returned to Jericho to take the land.
She was told to hang a scarlet band
In her window so they would see
And, in turn, would grant her amnesty.
Rahab listened to what they said and believed.
Because of her faith, she later received
A gift of grace from One divine -
A place of honor in God’s great design.
Joshua 2 1414 B.C
