We find ourselves only somewhat removed from the Christmas hustle and bustle, on Monday we went shopping for some goodies to hand out to our students at a number of primary schools. We went to the first of the schools today and put on a Christmas program telling the Christmas story in English and Thai with the use of flannel graph pictures, the kids listened intently and for the most part were able to answer questions at the end. They laughed and cheered as we played some “silly” races and gratefully accepted the gifts at the end but . . . Where is Santa? We were evidently missing two very important pieces of equipment, the tree and Santa. And we thought we lived in the sticks.
Apart from the school programs we are juggling a funeral at the house opposite us – Grandma passed away last night and the wake will go on for 3 days giving us plenty of opportunity to be involved with neighbors at this time.
As we come to the end of 2005 and into this time of blessing where we celebrate the birth of Christ on earth, we would like to thank you for your support as we have worked together to see Jesus presented to the Thai people.
We pray that 2006 will be a time when we all continue to find God’s will for our lives and work and see growth for the Kingdom.
