e-Missions Update: Jos, Nigeria

From Norm Baird:

Our experience in Nigeria has been fantastic so far! Today we visited to rural villages called Kafanshan and Bakinkogi. At Bakinkogi, we were welcomed by the entire village, and after we were done touring the very crude satellite clinic there, and we walked out of the building, there were probably 100 kids or more, most under the age of 8. I greeted them by saying "San Nu", which is Hausa for "Hello", and I began shaking hands with a few of them. Before I knew it, I was literally mobbed by dozens of kids wanting to shake my hand. So I made a point to shake as many as I could, and as we started walking up the road to the village chief's home (where we were invited as special guests), about four or five kids grabbed on to each of my hands and walked along with me, holding my hand. It was absolutely awesome! I felt like the Pied Piper! As we walked along, several of the village women were doing the high pitched squeal you've probably heard before in the Middle East or Africa to announce a celebration, and they sang and danced in front of us as we walked.

We ended up eating with the chief, and promising to return again. Well, I hope things are going well with you. We'll talk to you soon.
