e-Xploring the Web: Bible Gateway

Have you ever wondered exactly what that verse said - but couldn’t remember the book or the verse number? Have you ever wondered how other versions of the Bible translated the same verse? Have you ever been involved in a Bible study that has you flipping back and forth so much in the Bible that you have run out of bookmarks?

Do I have a website for you!

Check out www.biblegateway.com Bible Gateway offers 19 versions of the Bible in 21 languages. The home page opens on a quick search. Just type the address of the verse (ie: John 3:16) or a few keywords (so loved) and hit search. You can also select the version of the Word that you want to search. If you want a more search options they offer three selections. With Passage Lookup you can look at several passages at once, or you can look at the same passage in several versions. Under Keyword Search you can limit the area of the search to the Gospels, the Old Testament, Wisdom Books or to certain books. The Topical Index allows you to search the Bible by topic (faith, Cain, Feast of Tabernacles) Under Additional Resources are two commentaries that can be used to enhance your study of the Word.

This website is one of my most used tools. I use it for writing the devotions, I use it in my Bible studies, I am even using it to learn Bible verses in Spanish. I highly recommend it to you.
