“Bow before Me as one who expects everything from his Savior.
Let your soul keep silence before Me, however sad you feel your state to be.
Rest assured of this - I will teach you to pray.”
A. Murray
A great praise to report is that the preview service for Flipside this past Sonday was excellent! More and more new faces are showing up each service - 25% of the people Sonday’s service were “first-timers”! They had their first “official” baptism in a borrowed portable hot tub and 5 more people have expressed an interest in baptism. Flipside held their first Youth Group meeting on Tuesday night and had 15 young people show up!
Brent Clapp. Doug’s father and Diane’s father-in-law, is in the final stages of prostrate cancer. The e-mail that I received from Diane makes it obvious how loved and honored this Christian man is. Although it is well known that Brent will be going home to the Savior he has loved and served for so long - these closing days of his earthly life are difficult on those he will be temporarily leaving behind. Please pray that Brent passes gently into his Father’s arms and that his family and friends will find comfort and peace in the promises of Jesus.
I am excited to tell you that I got an e-mail from Charles Kabambi way over in France. Charles starts a new job this week. Chantel is fully recovered from her operation, but the doctor is telling her that the operation failed to correct the problem of her inability to conceive. I only have two names here - Sarah who was considered to be barren and in her old age had the child of promise - Issac - and - Elizabeth, also considered barren, who gave birth, to John the Baptist.
Two-year old Brandon is doing well with his treatments and recovery from leukemia. Because of the treatments his immune system is weak, making him susceptible to all the nasty little bugs floating around.
Laura has been having a difficult time with her recovery from the bone marrow transplant.
We continue to pray for the following: Stan Reed, Lillian Seward, Kassel Coon, Helen Wilmot, Connie’s continued recovery, Pastor Paul Binion & his wife, Larry Mead, Ray Rahn & his wife, Paula’s continued recovery, Marian, Brigg Noyes, Chuck Johnson, Sarah from Care Fresno, Ruth Howell & continued recovery, Rick Owens & the reoccurrence of his cancer, Lorraine Esparza’s daughter & son-in-law, Kirt Hunt & continued recovery, Judi Wright & her mom, Bobbie Ronsley & lupus, George & Margie Martin, 2 year old Patrick & the brain tumor, Yolanda & her back problems, Dan Hansen & his future job, John Rogers and cancer. Please send me any updates you might have on these situations.
Pray for our missionaries - Laurie Bethall in Prague, Judy, Faye & Miisaw as they work at the New Life Center in Thailand, Jan & Larry Martin in Thailand, The Reaching Hand Society in India, Dr. George Pe Myat & the hospital in the Congo, Bounkham & Khamla’s mission to Laos, and all the missionaries worldwide. The Reaching Hand Society is requesting prayer for finances to support two new programs that the government (the non-Christian government) has requested that they participate in.
Please keep our two church plants in prayer. Please pray for Karl & Shellie Roth with Flipside. Please pray for Horacio & Cheryl Aleman at the LIFEhouse in Reedley.
Pray for our pastors, our leadership, our ministries, and Father’s provision for His Church. Pray for opportunities to share our faith with others.
Pray for our country, her leadership and our military.
Sanctuary of our Souls,
It is good to step back from the busyness of the world and retreat into this quiet sacred time with You. You are our Sanctuary, our Refuge from the troubles of the world. When we are with You like this, our souls are at peace.
Bright and Morning Star, we thank You for the light that You are revealing through the Flipside Church and for the many people You are bringing to hear Your promises. Continue to bless and strengthen all those who are involved with this new church.
Triune God, We pray for Brent and ask that as he closes this physical part of his life and readies himself to come into Your presence, that You bring him home gently and at a time in accordance with Your will. We pray for Doug, Diane, the family, friends and lives that Brent has touched - that You comfort them as they also prepare for Brent’s leaving. Remind them that this parting is only temporary - that when You are involved - there are no goodbye’s.
LORD God, we thank You that You are our provider and we thank You for Charles’ new job. Help him to be a light on his job that reflects You in all that he does. We pray for Chantel and the physical problem that prevents her from having children. We pray that Your will be done.
We pray for Brandon and ask that You keep the germs and illnesses far away from him until his immune system is strong enough to fight them off.
We pray for Laura, LORD God, and ask that her recovery from the transplant surgery be eased.
LORD of all Creation, how astounding it is to us - the depths of Your love for us. You speak with a voice of thunder and lightning - mountains shake, the foundations of the earth move and all creation trembles in awe of You. But when You speak to us Your voice is gentle and still. You speak to us in the voice of love. Speak to us - Father let us hear Your voice and praise You even more.
Bread of Life, we ask Your continued working in the lives and situations of all the people we are praying for. Holy Spirit, breathe peace and mercy on them.
Precious Savior, we lift up the missionaries who serve You in so many places on this earth. We ask that You bless them with Your abundance. Keep them surrounded with Your safety, guide them with Your wisdom. We pray for the Reaching Hand Society and for the challenges they face with these new programs. Provide for their financial needs, LORD God.
We pray in agreement for Karl & Shellie Roth and for Your blessings to fall on them and the work of the Flipside Church. We pray for Horacio & Cheryl Aleman, lifting them with hands of joy before Your throne, and ask that You bless them and the LIFEHouse Church.
Jehovah Jirah, thank You for the wonderful men and women that You have placed in our congregation as our pastors. Father, we praise You that they lead us first by example and then by their words. Thank You for their witness of You. Pour Your Spirit on them - fill them with Your vision. Help us to support them in love and in actions. Bless the leadership of our churches, the ministries and provide for our needs.
Open our eyes to opportunities to engage our world in Your name. Give us the courage to take them. Help us to live by faith and let our actions reflect that faith.
Bless our country, LORD God. Help us to remember and honor our heritage that is found in You. Help our leaders as they make decisions that affect us and all that are in the world. Help them to hear Your voice of guidance. Protect the men and women who serve us in the military.
Father, I have no standing in this world. I have nothing that the world counts as important - I have no power, fame or money. Thank You that I don’t. My standing is found in Your eyes. You count me as Your child - and nothing this empty world has to offer compares to that. We love You, Lord, we will love You forever.
