e-Praise & Prayers - March 9, 2005

See that you do not use the trick of prayer to cover up what you know you ought to do.
O. Chambers

Stan Reed was able to attend services this past Sonday! What an exciting praise to our Father! Stan has lost about 40 pounds in his battle with cancer - but he continues to be in good spirits.

Please pray for Lillian Seward who has shingles on the left side of her chest.

Pray for Kassel Coon, Doob Jessup’s grandson, as he serves his country in Afghanistan.

Helen Wilmot has a foot infection that has put her into a wheelchair while the antibiotics work.

Larry Mead took a fall last Wednesday and broke his ankle as well as damaging his rotor cuff. After surgery to repair the damage, Larry is now in a wheelchair & walker while the bones heal.

Pastor Paul Binion and his wife were in an automobile accident last week. They are in considerable pain from the injuries and would appreciate the prayers of God’s people.

We have an update on Connie & the pneumonia she’s suffering from. She is still very weak and cannot return to work until April. This is creating financial difficulties for her because she has run out of paid leave time. Please continue to pray for healing and financial stability for Connie.

Paula has had a bit of a set-back in her recovery. She had to go into the hospital for a blood transfusion on the 8th. She is extremely anemic.

Please pray for Ray Rahn & his wife. He has been having heart problems but will not go to the doctor out of fear that the doctor will not let him work. If Ray does not work then they do not have health insurance and his wife has a host of medical problems that makes health insurance vital.

I received an unusual phone call this morning from the secretary of thefirm that did CCLS’s financial audits about 6 years ago. Marian is facing major problems in her personal and professional life caused by substance abuse. She told me that she was feeling at the end of her rope when my name popped into her head and so she decided to call me - even though she didn’t know how I could really help her. I gave her as much advice as I could on the professional problems, told her that I understood about the personal problems because I had been there and done that. Then I told her that I was a believer and that I was going to pray for her and asked her to call me to let me know how she was doing - and that I would be calling her. Please pray for Marian and that this situation brings her home to Jesus.

We continue to pray for the following: Briggs Noyes, Chuck Johnson, Sarah from Care Fresno, Ruth Howell & continued recovery, Vanessa Garcia & continued recovery, Rick Owens & the reoccurrence of his cancer, Laura and recovery from her bone marrow transplant, Lorraine Esparza’s daughter & son-in-law, Kirt Hunt & continued recovery, Judi Wright & her mom, Bobbie Ronsley & lupus, George & Margie Martin, 2 year old Patrick & the brain tumor, Yolanda & her back problems, 2 year old Brandon & his leukemia, Dan Hansen & his future job, John Rogers and cancer. Please send me any updates you might have on these situations.

Pray for our missionaries - Laurie Bethall in Prague, Judy, Faye & Miisaw as they work at the New Life Center in Thailand, Jan & Larry Martin in Thailand, The Reaching Hand Society in India, Dr. George Pe Myat & the hospital in the Congo, Bounkham & Khamla’s mission to Laos, and all the missionaries worldwide.

Please keep our two church plants in prayer. Flipside’s next preview service is this Sonday at Valley Oak Elementary. Please pray for Karl & Shellie Roth with Flipside. What a treat we had this past Sonday to see the slide show of the LIFEHouse’s first service! Please pray for Horacio & Cheryl Aleman at the LIFEhouse in Reedley.

Pray for our pastors, our leadership, our ministries, and Father’s provision for His Church. Pray for opportunities to share our faith with others.

Pray for our country, her leadership and our military.

Creator and Sustainer of Life,

You are Light when the darkness of the world is around us. You are the Bread of Life, You are the Joy that comes in the morning. You are everything of which our hearts sing. Take our lives, Father, and use them to glorify You.

Father, we praise You that Stan Reed was able to join us in services on Sonday. We ask that You continue to be with him and strengthen him.

We pray for Lillian and ask that You bring healing to the shingles that she if suffering from.

Holy Spirit, we pray that Your protection and surround Kassel as he serves in Afghanistan.

Father, touch Helen’s foot with Your healing hand and help the antibiotics to work quickly.

Great Physician, calm Larry as he has to be still during this time of recovery for him. Knit together his broken bones and damaged rotor cuff and restore him to his full and active life.

We lift up Your servants, Pastor Paul and his wife, and thank You, LORD, for protecting them during the automobile accident. Father, we ask that You heal them completely.

Provider of our Needs, we call out for Connie and ask that You provide for her financial needs as You continue to heal her body.

LORD Jesus, You told us that where our treasure is there our hearts will be. If our hearts are where our treasure is and our home is where our hearts are - then You are our home because You are our treasure - our pearl beyond price. We love You so much.

We pray for Paula and the setback she has suffered. Father, guide her doctors as they help her overcome these latest problems.

Holy God, sometimes we feel so trapped by circumstances that we feel like we have no control over. Ray and his wife are in one of those places. You are in control of the stars that fill the universe and in control of the movement of the ant on the ground. You are in control of this situation that surrounds Ray and his wife - so we ask that You work in this for them and that it will bring You all the glory.

Father, I am going to tell you that I am blown away by this whole thing with Marian. It is so strange so I know that You are the only explanation for this phone call. We lift Marian up before You and ask that You help her with her substance abuse problems and that You call to her and help her with her greatest problem - a broken relationship with You.

Holy Spirit, we lift up all the following names and ask that You move in each life: Briggs, Chuck, Sarah, Ruth, Vanessa, Rick, Laura, Lorraine’s daughter & son-in-law, Kirt, Judi & her mom, Bobbie, George & Margie, Patrick, Yolanda, Brandon, Dan, and John.

Savior, we pray for all the missionaries that serve You so well in places near and far from us. We pray Your protection around them and pray for Your provision for them. We pray for our brothers and sisters in You who are persecuted for their faith - grant them courage and strength. Let them feel Your joy and Your pride in them.

LORD God, you promise that if we pray in accordance to Your will that You will answer our prayers. We claim that promise and we pray, LORD, for the preview service at Flipside church this Sonday. LORD use this service to touch hearts and bring them to You. We pray for the LIFEhouse church in Reedley and ask that You continue to bless this new church with Your abundance and power.

Shield and Defender, we lift our pastors before You and ask that You protect them and guide them. We lift up our church leaders, our various ministries and we ask that You provide for the needs of our church. Father, open our eyes to opportunities to share our faith in You.

Father God, bless our country and turn her heart back to You. Bless those who lead us. Bless our military as they serve our country.

You are the Alpha and Omega of our lives, LORD of All. Our past, present and future are all found in You and Your great love for us. In Your name we pray - Amen
